I have been thanked for setting up this site. Thanks, but the lovely people at the Type 1 Diabetes Network (especially Kate and Dan) set this up for us all to use. I am so not computer savvy (I only figured out how to use the quote thingy yesterday!), hence why I'm posting this as a topic because I don't know how else to do it!

Munted Pancreas takes no responsibilty for the content of these sites, but you might want to have a nosey at them.

An Australian based online community for young adults with diabetes. It's informative, entertaining and challenging. Please feel free to read everything (this is known as lurking), but as it is not aimed at parents, unless you have diabetes yourself it's polite to keep posting to an absolute minimum.

Any other sites people can recommend?

Hope is an important issue with me, and I'd like to believe that treatment for D will improve. So, with that in mind, the following URLs are provided.

Living Cell Technologies Ltd (LCT) is an advanced biotechnology company currently listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. LCT’s focus is on market-driven encapsulated living cell products, for the treatment of Huntington's disease, haemophilia and insulin-dependent diabetes.

I seem to spend lots of money on Diabetes online - so heres some shopping links Laughing

www.diabetesnet.com has some online calculators, lots of info and a store - I bought some D books and some pumppacks through them.

www.fifty50pharmacy.com has some Diabetes products and they give some percentage of their sales (maybe 50% going by their name) to diabetes research. I bought Pumpernickel from here.

The pink Panther book online http://www.uchsc.edu/misc/diabetes/ud11.html

http://www.diabeteskidsandteens.com.au/
http://www.insulinfactor.com/

I haven't looked closely at this site yet but it looked pretty cool
